Bargaining will continue this week in Rye New York. We will be meeting with Verizon to discuss among other things call sharing. We are still miles apart, and negotiations are not expected to wrap up any time soon.
It is imperative that we all do everything that we can to pressure this company to do the right thing and bargain a fair contract. The only way that we can successfully bring these negotiations to a close is to hit this company where it hurts, Wireless. Please check our website IBEW2322.com for each week’s wireless Wednesday location. Giving a couple of hours each week to educate the public about what Verizon is attempting to do to middle class America is a small price to pay to ensure that we get the fair contract we deserve. We hope to see you this Wednesday at the Verizon wireless store at Wareham Crossing, Cranberry Highway, in Wareham.

From 2008 – 2010, despite billions in profits, Verizon paid no federal income taxes. Anyone that paid even a penny in federal income taxes paid more than Verizon did from 2008 – 2010. At the same time, Verizon is trying to destroy middle class jobs.
Tax evasion and union-busting are wrong. America needs a strong middle class, not corporate greed. I urge Verizon to stop trying to destroy middle class jobs and stop using corporate tax loopholes and dodges to avoid paying a fair share
Flush times are back for Hawaiian Telcom, the state's largest telecommunications company. So much so that Chief Executive Eric Yeaman increased his annual pay by more by 400 percent, to $6.72 million, late last year.

The workers — represented by Honolulu Local 1357 — have been working without a contract since last summer. Negotiations, which began in August, broke down because of management's initial refusal to compromise on any of its demands...... READ FULL STORY
